K-12 Schools

The Carroll County and City of Carrollton school systems, along with the private Oak Mountain Academy, are making a difference.  Our high schools maintain a graduation rate of 92% and over 50% of our students are receiving college credits through dual enrollment.  At the College and Career Academy, students can get a step ahead on college and careers.

Learning is the top priority, but when it comes to a well-rounded education, extracurricular activities and sports matter too.  From the Debate Club and Chess Club to 4-H and Computer Science, over 80% of our students actively participate in some type of club or activity.  Our football, baseball, golf, and lacrosse teams are among the best in the state.

Higher Education

Carroll County is home to both a university and a technical college.  Whether it’s a recent high school grad, a returning student, or employees looking to grow their skills or change careers, the University of West Georgia and the West Georgia Technical College offer limitless opportunities.

The HOPE Scholarship program (Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally) provides tuition assistance to Georgia students with demonstrated academic achievement. The HOPE Scholarship is merit-based with GPA requirements.  The HOPE Grant encourages technical training and requires no specific high school GPA requirements. The program is funded entirely by revenue from the Georgia Lottery, and since 1993, more than 1.8 million students enrolled in Georgia’s public and private colleges and universities and public technical schools have received over $11 Billion in HOPE funds.
